CHRIS BAUMY
Lead A/V Technology Engineer
As part of Emmanuel’s worship ministry, Chris is the lead audio/visual [A/V] technology engineer. Chris is responsible for providing A/V engineering, live streaming, and A/V technical support for Sunday worship services, mid-week and special services, church events, and community and private events requiring A/V support.
Chris is from Livingston, Louisiana and joined the US Navy in 2002. He is now a retired chief petty officer after twenty years of service and has begun his next journey as a naval aviation readiness analyst for Booz Allen Hamilton. Chris earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Applied Computer Science in 2012 and a Master of Science in Technology and Innovation Management in Cybersecurity in January 2021. He and his family have chosen to remain in Southern Maryland.
God became a part of Chris’s life at a young age, in part because his parents included the church as part of their lives. He was saved at the age of nine, and was baptized soon after at a boat ramp by his pastor, Terry Lobell. After moving out on his own and joining the military, Chris went a long time without the Lord in his life until Veteran’s Day in 2018 when he re-dedicated his life at the altar at Lake Asbury Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
Chris has always had a servant’s heart – a trait he attributes to his father – which began when he was young setting up sound equipment with his dad. His passion to serve and his ability to utilize technology, partnered with his desire to learn and apply new concepts, makes him a great fit as Emmanuel’s lead audio/visual technology engineer.
In his down-time, Chris enjoys working with anything mechanical, including electronics and cars. He also enjoys golfing, cooking, and fixing just about anything made of wood or metal.
