CONNECTION GROUPS

Emmanuel is a church of Connection Groups. Connection Groups are the heartbeat of the church, an essential part of becoming fully-developing followers of Jesus as we navigate life together. These small groups meet weekly for fellowship, biblical study, and to form deeper relationships among the church family. These are the people that will be there when you need them. They will pray with you and for you, they will encourage you, and they will walk alongside you on your spiritual journey.

Sign up for a Fall Connection Group below! Groups begin meeting the week of October 13. This fall, all groups will be going through the same material as part of our church-wide fall campaign: "Thriving in Babylon." How can we stay anchored to God amidst all the fear, uncertainty, and hostility toward God and biblical values?

WHAT WILL I DO IN A CONNECTION GROUP?
When your group meets, you’ll spend time with each other, eat, study the Bible, pray for each other, and serve together.

HOSTING FAQS

WHAT DOES A CONNECTION GROUP HOST DO?
As a host, you will provide your home or another location for the group to meet, provide or coordinate snacks, and facilitate your Bible study discussions.
WHEN AND WHERE DO GROUPS MEET?
Groups meet once a week at the host's home. There may be limited space available at the church - please contact the church office for more info.
HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
Each semester lasts eight to ten weeks. After that, groups are encouraged to continue meeting!

Each group meeting should last roughly two hours, with equal time devoted to fellowship and to Bible study and prayer.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN A GROUP?
It depends on the group and the space constraints of your location. Most groups are about ten to fifteen people - some larger, some smaller.
WHAT WILL THE CONTENT OF THE BIBLE STUDY BE?
Typically, for the spring semester, the content is up to you as the host (subject to approval by our elders). If you're not sure how to find a study, RightNow Media is a wonderful, free resource with thousands of Bible studies available to you.

During our fall campaign, all groups will be going through the same Bible study content that complements the Sunday message series.
WHAT IF I'VE NEVER HOSTED A GROUP BEFORE?
Now is a great time to start! The requirements to be a group host are membership at Emmanuel and a heart for people. We will provide you with training resources.
