Emmanuel Church in Huntingtown, Maryland, exists to give everyone the best opportunity to become a fully developing follower of Jesus Christ. We believe children’s ministry is vital to this mission. Our church is seeking an engaging, Jesus-following, Spirit-filled, family-focused, educated, and well-equipped full-time staff member to lead our Emmanuel Kids children’s ministry for infants through fifth grade.

- Partner with parents to disciple their children through evangelism, discipleship, service, fellowship, and worship. You will resource families through the growth phases of childhood while establishing a biblical foundation for life. You will be expected to excel in communications and the use of technology to accomplish your mission. Local public school and homeschool cooperative opportunities are currently established and ready for your involvement.
- Create a safe and fun environment for children and volunteers to come to faith in Jesus and become more like Him. Environment matters! We also want every child to be protected under our watch. You will oversee the volunteer background check process and assist the church security team to protect our children.
- Strengthen and develop an enthusiastic ministry team of more than fifty volunteers through personal relationships, coaching, skill-development, and team training. You will lead your volunteer team to navigate two Sunday E-Kids sessions during the morning worship services.
- Maximize the use of the newly constructed, seventeen-thousand-square-foot Emmanuel Life Center and gym to engage our E-Kids and evangelize the children in the region. A sports and recreation background is strongly encouraged.
- Enhance the ministry efforts of the thirteen-member church staff and join the family ministry team to fulfill Emmanuel’s mission locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. We are located just thirty minutes south of Washington, DC, and strategically positioned to make a difference in the lives of many in Southern Maryland and the around the world.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
We are seeking an administrative assistant. The hours are Monday through Thursday, 10:00am–4:00pm, with some weekend duties. The position comes with vacation, sick leave, and nine holidays a year. The pay would be from $17,900 to $22,000 based on prior experience. Please download the full job description for more details on specific duties.

- Must be able to work at a fast pace and stick to weekly deadlines.
- Must be a self-starter with an innovative approach to administration and a keen eye for detail.
- Must be committed to the church’s mission and message.
- Must be courteous and tactful with members and visitors.
- Must exercise exceptional judgment in dealing with sensitive and personal issues.
- Must be comfortable working with technology, able to make entries into the Church Community Builder (CCB) database, and work with general data processing duties.
- Must be an able and willing member of the church team.
- Must be comfortable interacting with a wide range of individuals.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree recommended.
- At least two years clerical or administrative experience.
- Experience using Microsoft apps and Acrobat.
Work Environment
- Time is spent in a church office.
- Must be able to multi-task and meet regular weekly duties.
- Must be able to work occasional weekends and attend regular services and some special events.
