ANGEL TREE
Angel Tree provides Christmas gifts to forgotten elderly, shut-ins, and developmentally challenged individuals. Angel Tree participants receive the name and wishes of their "angel" and recipients are blessed with wrapped gifts to open Christmas morning. Those on our Angel Tree Team facilitate this ministry opportunity by organizing the campaign, ensuring every request is fulfilled, and delivering gifts to the recipients.
EASTER BAGS
Each year, Emmanuel members and attenders assemble over two thousand Easter goodie bags for local elderly, homebound, people with developmental challenges, and others in the community. We collect items for the bags such as candy and snacks, assemble the bags, and deliver them to the recipients to show them the love of Jesus in a tangible way.
NIGHT TO SHINE
Night to Shine is a memorable prom-night experience for those with special needs, ages 14 and over. For one magical evening, our special needs neighbors become prom kings and queens . . . and enjoy a night to SHINE while parents/caregivers are treated to a time of respite.
ON OUR OWN CHRISTMAS PARTY
An evening of good food, great music, dancing and fun includes a visit from Santa for our local elderly, shut-in, and developmentally-challenged neighbors. Opportunities for serving include:
- assisting with organizing the party
- ensuring safety for each guest
- providing gifts for each guest
PROJECT ECHO
Project ECHO supports men, women, and children in Calvert County experiencing homelessness. Emmanuel's Project ECHO Team collects household items for those families seeking to get back on their feet. Examples of needed supplies include paper goods, hygiene items, and first aid items.
SAFE NIGHTS
Partnering with other local churches, Emmanuel becomes a shelter for one winter week, providing those in our area who are experiencing homelessness with a haven during harsh, frigid nights. Meeting the basic needs of people who are suffering presents an opportunity to share the love, acceptance, and care of Jesus. Safe Nights provides a safe shelter, meals, shower and laundry services, a warm bed, and emotional and spiritual support.
